When did you first start CrossFit? 2.5 years ago
What is your favorite exercise? Squats (not really)
What is your least favorite exercise? Burpees
What is your sports / fitness background? Football and wrestling in high school, jogging, tennis, bicycle commuting, hiking
How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? A friends son opened a box in Redmond WA.
Describe your first WOD. Were you scared? Excited? How did you feel after you were done? I was nervous beforehand. I was in shock afterwards, proud that I had done anything at all.
When did you know something had to change before you joined Desert CrossFit? Women were not attracted to me.
What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting CF? Total transformation. I am so much leaner. I move so much better. I think I look better. I love my workouts.
Tell us about an area of your life most impacted by your decision to join Desert CrossFit. My mornings.
Can you describe your most memorable Desert CrossFit experience for us? The day I joined and knew this was a box for me. I fit in well and have been having a great time.
When have you used CrossFit outside the box? Well, there was the time I leaped a tall building in a single bound.
What are your hobbies, interests and/or talents outside of CrossFit? I’m a good photographer and enjoy it tremendously.
What are some of your CrossFit goals for the next year? Survival is high on the list with this 63 year old body.
What are some of your favorite cheat meals and why? It’s really hard to give up great bread.
Any advice for people just getting started? Do not compare yourself to others. If you do, compare yourself to many, many others out there who are not exercising with the amazing intensity of CrossFit.
